Socks on a Mexican blanket

There was a low tide at 8:30 yesterday morning so my wife and I went down to the beach for breakfast. I burn, so yes, I was wearing long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and shoes. I took my shoes off and liked the colour of the Mexican blanket and my H and M socks. I sat there and took about 8 pictures of my feet on the blanket.

This is my favourite picture. I did crop it to just zero in on the checkered pattern of the socks and the bold colour of the stripes.

I don't just take pictures of my feet. These are the latest set of Hallowe'en candy container ornaments that I am working on. There is a cats head, assorted squash, pumpkins and gourds, a moon, a mushroom head, an acorn head, an apple, a crow, and an owl. I am looking forward to seeing the finished pieces. All of these are hollow and will hold candies, chocolates for those with a more refined pallette or non-edible treats. I have trimmed them and now they are drying. I must get going as I have work to do.

Hello, I’m back.

Well that was an unexpected hiatus. For some reason my computer that was unbearably slow to the point of inducing either insanity or a coma has stopped doing what it was or should I say was not doing. It is somewhat slow but not as slow as about a month ago. I don’t know why it is not acting up the way it was but who cares I’m doing my blog again.

Here are some photos of some new Hallowe’en ornaments. Yes, I know Easter is on the way and I do have some photos of work for sale that would make the Easter Bunny proud but I just had to make these guys. They were going to be put up for sale but a collector friend bought the lot. Lucky her! The moulds were made last autumn. Each ornament is one of a kind. The arms are vintage bump chenille. Vintage chenille is so soft and fine compared to the modern bump chenille and the colours are incredibly beautiful. I am always on the look out for more. I wil be doing more of these ornaments. They won't be identical, but will have different colourations and different accessories. As they are made I will be posting them.
